Promoting Healthy Lifestyles Through Recreation and Parks- Infographic

Reflection: For this assignment we were asked to create a two-page infographic displaying SMART objective results about our organization from data we collected or had available and analyzed. The project incorporated various lessons learned throughout the semester, and needed to include three clear uses of our data, at least one central tendency, two carts, an advanced statistical method (either correlation, ttest, anova, or chi square) and use of comparison data. For this particular assignment, I focused on Healthy Lifestyles through Recreation & Parks and NCRPA’s recreation and parks wellness initiative. This class although fun, could be challenging with the amount of data and learning new statistics concepts. The final infographic was an enjoyable project because it brought together the lessons learned in class to create a visually appealing way to share a story through the data we collected. I was able to use my Infographic to show the importance of Recreation and Park agencies providing access to a variety of programs and opportunities to help combat health issues faced by the communities they serve. The infographic outlined how NCRPA wellness initiative can be a tool for recreation agencies to increase their capacity to support community health and wellness through the adoption of results-driven guidelines, policy, and programming. The infographic has been incorporated as a part of the NCRPA wellness toolkit.
